Baptism of Layla Margaret Hansen

Welcome to the Family of Faith

Layla Margaret Hansen, the daughter of Pastor David and Julia Hansen, was baptized as a part of our worship services on All Saints Sunday, 2007.  Layla, born in mid-September, is the first child born to a current pastor of Saint John Lutheran Church in over 100 years.  The guest preacher for the service was Layla’s grandfather, the Rev. Chris Hansen from Tennessee.  Layla was baptized by her father.

As with all newly baptized at Saint John, Layla was presented with gifts from the congregation.  A quilt made by the Saint John Quilters, to remind her that she always has the comfort and protection of God; and a hand-made baptismal chest, to remind her that she is a treasure to God.

As we gathered to remember the faithful who have passed into glory, we also rejoiced to welcome a new member of the body of Christ.  Welcome to the family of Saint John, Layla Margaret!
